Death By Chocolate

This is a chocolate class with a difference, not only will you take home a gorgeous chocolate cake decorated by your own hands, but you will work with and make a wide variety of chocolate products during the day using chocolate.

During the class, which is interactive you will be shown the following:

Cake

  • How to make ganache using milk chocolate
  • How to split and fill an already baked chocolate cake
  • How to ganache a cake to get a beautiful crisp sharp edge
  • How to use textures to enhance your cake
  • How to achieve the perfect drip
  • How to work with fresh flowers on cakes
  • How to work with Gold Leaf
  • Application of trim to your cake and cake drum

Chocolates

  • How to temper chocolate in a home environment
  • Working with a variety of chocolate moulds
  • Use of dusting colours and lustres
  • Working with Gold Leaf
  • Working with Velvet Cocoa Butter
  • Using Liquid chocolate
White Chocolate
The class costs £85, and runs from 10.00am until approximately 4.30pm. Refreshments and a light lunch are included in the price. All tools, equipment, and ingredients are supplied, so you don’t need to provide anything.

Please note each cake will vary in colour and design as we show you how to make and use each item but it is up to you where and how you position on your cakes thus each student can add their personal touch to their cakes. Attendance is limited to four persons to ensure personal attention.
