The Process

YOUR CONSULATION
We offer a no obligation consultation which is held at our premises in Dudley. These are provided on an appointment basis and are for two persons only. During the consultation you will be able to view some of our display cakes prior to any discussion. We will also provide you with a complimentary selection of our most popular cake flavours to sample.

During this consultation you can discuss with us the details of your wedding, your requirements for your wedding cake, and any other relevant details such as budget. When designing a cake, we try to consider your budget, theme, venue, time of year, colours, flavours, number of guests, as well as many other factors. We suggest that you bring along any ideas or inspiration such as pictures you have, as well as samples of anything you would like to incorporate into your cake design, for example, pictures of your flowers, colour samples such as fabric or ribbon swatches, invitations etc.

We highly recommend taking advantage of our consultation service as this way we can ensure a full and accurate quote is provided.

BESPOKE TASTINGS
For customers preferring a bespoke tasting, we offer three 6" cakes in flavours of your choice from our menu for you to sample. This is charged at £150 and is payable in advance. Please contact us for full details.

DETAILS AND PAYMENT
Following your consultation, a full quote with all the details discussed (Design, Flavours, Size of Cake, Delivery Details etc) will be forwarded for you to check. Any amendments you require can be discussed and the quote revised, prior to us issuing an invoice.

We require a non-refundable deposit of 20% to secure your order. Only once the deposit has been received in full will any sketches or cake designs be released to you. We accept payments via bank transfer or through our payment processor PayPal where you can make credit or debit card payments if preferred.

The balance of your payment is required three weeks before your wedding date, when we will reconfirm all details with you prior to beginning any work on your cake.

DELIVERY
We offer delivery and staging of cakes for a reasonable charge. Alternatively, you may collect from our premises in Dudley, West Midlands. Cakes can be collected on the day of the wedding or the day before. Your cake and/or cupcakes will be boxed, and advice will be given on how best to transport them. The Nuthouse Bakery is unable to accept any responsibility for cakes once they have been collected from us.

Cakes are delivered and staged prior to your event. Please note The Nuthouse Bakery is unable to accept any responsibility for the cake and/or cupcakes once they have been delivered and staged. Your venue will be asked when possible to sign a declaration saying that all is well before we leave the venue.

There is a standard charge of £25 for staging. Delivery costs may vary based on the distance of delivery from our home. We base these on 50p per mile, both to and from the venue.

CAKE STANDS AND HIRE
We have a variety of cake stands that can be hired to accompany your cake. Stands are free to hire for 5 days and a holding deposit for replacement and delivery of the stand is issued. The holding deposit is refunded once the stand has been returned to us. We only hire stands to our customers who have ordered cakes with us.
